Abstract

Table S1: Spearman correlations between dental age and total ossification scores in common dolphins (Delphinus delphis). The total score was calculated as the sum across all bone locations; differences between methods relate only to the handling of ‘D2P2’ and ‘D3P2’: (i) Maximum — each bone represented by the higher of its proximal and distal epiphysis scores; (ii) Average — each bone represented by the mean of proximal and distal epiphysis scores; (iii) Separate epiphyses — proximal and distal epiphyses of each bone scored separately. Correlations are shown by sex and flipper side, with FDR-corrected p-values.
