AAI-01 - Delegation Is Not Distribution
Abstract
Delegation Is Not Distribution Most contemporary debates about agency assume that responsibility survives as long as decisions are “shared” across humans and systems. This note pushes back on that assumption. What disappears today is not human participation, but custody: the ability to interrupt, veto, or reclaim a decision before it becomes irreversible. When custody is transferred into delegated systems, action continues while authorship dissolves. This essay clarifies a distinction that is routinely blurred:distribution preserves agency; delegation dissolves it.It builds directly on:AAA-01 — Why the Hard Problem of Consciousness Still Matters-Even If AI Never Becomes ConsciousAAA-02 — Behavior Is Not Agency: Why Acting Human Is Not the Same as Being Responsible
