Abstract

This table details the functional categorization of nucleomorph-encoded proteins in both Teleaulax species, including plastid-targeted proteins, housekeeping factors, and genes of unknown function. It also documents gene sharing patterns and lineage-specific gene absences. The data reveal the extreme reduction and rapid evolution of the nucleomorph genome while highlighting the strong conservation of plastid-supporting genes, illustrating the specialized role of this relict endosymbiont nucleus.
