Abstract

This repository contains the online appendices (Appendices A–C) for the study “Rhetorical Reason-Giving through Image Restoration Strategies in Corporate Responses to DEI Pushback.”Appendix A outlines the coding guidelines, source document selection criteria, unit of analysis, and decision rules used to classify corporate responses to DEI-related controversy. Appendix B provides re-specified operational definitions of Image Repair Theory (IRT) strategies in the context of DEI rollback, along with representative exemplars drawn directly from corporate statements. Appendix C presents a company-level overview of how IRT strategies were combined across different DEI stances (ended, modified, maintained).Together, these materials support the transparency and replicability of the content analysis and document-level qualitative interpretation used in the study.
