Abstract

Entropy-Collapse Constraint (Clause AI-8), a mandatory safety floor for self-play, multi-agent, and sampling-ensemble systems. It formalizes the "Efficiency-Robustness Paradox," where systems optimized for peak performance inevitably collapse into fragile, low-entropy local optima without architectural intervention. The Problem: As evidenced by frontier systems like AlphaStar and OpenAI Five, naive self-play leads to "Strategy Collapse"—a state where agents win through exploitation of specific artifacts rather than generalized capability. This state is physically analogous to a "Dead End" in evolutionary biology and a "Circuit Breaker" failure in financial markets. The Solution: Clause AI-8 mandates a Policy Diversity Floor, transforming safety from a "Vibe" into a measurable dynamical invariant. It provides the mathematical proof that diversity is not a preference, but a requirement for long-term operational stability and recovery in autonomous architectures
