This repository contains the source code, and experimental scripts associated with the research paper "Dendritic Nonlinearities Mitigate Communication Costs."This study challenges the assumption that dendritic structures primarily exist to enhance learning capacity. Instead, it provides evidence that active dendrites and dendritic nonlinearities serve a critical role in mitigating communication costs—specifically data movement and wiring overhead—in both biological and artificial neural networks.
