Anadolu'da Türkçe: Dil ve Edebiyatın Asırlık Yolculuğu
Abstract
Anatolia is not merely a geography; it is a vast cultural landscape where languages, cultures, and literary traditions have intertwined over the centuries, giving rise to new meanings. The Turkish language and literature have also interacted with different cultures and social factors in this geography, undergoing a development process that spans from oral tradition to written culture. This book, compiled from the lecture notes of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Özbalcı, aims to address the evolution of Turkish language and literature in Anatolia from a holistic perspective. In this work, language and literature are evaluated not only as aesthetic products but also as fundamental elements that reflect societies' worldviews, beliefs, and historical experiences. For this reason, the work adopts a thematic and comparative approach in addition to a chronological narrative. The chapters in the work focus on the settlement process of the Turkish language, elements of oral culture, the formative role of Sufi literature, classical literary traditions, and their points of both continuity and transformation. Thus, it attempts to reveal the dynamics through which the Turkish language and literature in Anatolia developed in different periods.
