Inter-annual stability data for species richness in the Patagonian Steppe
Abstract
This dataset contains the inter-annual variation values used to assess the stability of plant communities in the Patagonian Steppe. It includes the calculated differences in species richness between consecutive sampling years for 400 transects. These data support the 'Stability Zone' analysis (defined by a +/-1 species threshold), demonstrating that despite inherent stochastic noise, the structural matrix of the vegetation remains consistent over time. The dataset is organized by vegetation unit and provides the basis for the inter-annual convergence patterns reported in the associated study.
