A dataset of tissue-specific gene expression during vegetative to floral development in Brassica napus
Abstract
The transition from vegetative to reproductive growth is a key developmental process in plants that depends on several endogenous and environmental cues. The regulation of the floral transition results in dynamic gene expression. Quantifying expression changes throughout plant development can thus help identify key genes and deliver insights into their regulation. Here, we provide datasets of RNA-seq timeseries across development, collected from seedling, apex and leaf tissue, for three Brassica napus cultivars, including a biennial, a spring and a semi-winter type that have been bred for specific seasonal conditions.
