Abstract

This dataset includes city-scale soil organic carbon (SOC) values for urban greenspaces (GS) and impervious surface areas (ISA) across a global set of cities. The data is standardized and provides a comprehensive view of SOC distribution in relation to various environmental and socio-economic factors. In addition to the SOC data, the dataset also includes key covariates such as temperature (TEMP), precipitation (PREC), and other relevant environmental and urbanization metrics. These variables are crucial for understanding the factors driving SOC variability in urban areas, and can be used for further spatial and statistical analyses, including machine learning and geospatial modeling. This dataset is intended to support research on the role of urban soils in global carbon cycling and land-use change.
