Abstract

Table S1. Specimen, ecology, alpha diversityThis table contains specimen-level metadata for the stink bug individuals used in the microbiome study, including sample ID, species/common name, family, dissected tissue (posterior midgut M4 crypt region), sex, locality, collection date (June 2021), host plant, and collector. It also reports within-sample (alpha) diversity metrics calculated separately for bacterial 16S and fungal ITS datasets (e.g., observed richness and common diversity/evenness indices such as Shannon/Simpson and Chao1-type estimators).Table S2. SRA library metadata for sequencing uploadThis table is the NCBI SRA submission metadata for the sequencing libraries. For each library, it lists the sample name, library ID, a short library title/description, and standard SRA fields such as library strategy (amplicon), library source/selection (PCR), layout (paired-end), platform/instrument, plus the associated raw read filenames (FASTQ forward/reverse files) used for the SRA upload.Table S3. BioSample / MIMARKS attributesThis table provides the NCBI BioSample “MIMARKS.specimen.host-associate” attribute set for the samples. It includes required and optional metadata fields such as sample name, organism, collection date, standardized environmental descriptors (broad/local/medium, with ENVO-style terms), geographic location name, latitude/longitude, and host-related fields (e.g., host common name, life stage, sex, and tissue sampled — the posterior midgut M4/crypt region).Table S4. Host fitness experiment metadata, egg surface sterilization. This table contains metadata and response variables from the spined citrus bug fitness experiment following treatment. For each replicate (and batch), it records treatment group, temperature, and sex, along with measured life-history traits including egg-to-adult development time, adult longevity, and fecundity (where available). This table is intended to document the experimental structure (replicates/batches) and the key outcome variables used in downstream analyses. Table S5. OTU abundance tables and sequence read counts for 16S rRNA gene and ITS amplicon sequencing data
