Abstract

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is a crucial aspect in the design of power electronics structures. In the case of static converters, conducted (common mode and differential mode) and radiated disturbances (magnetic and electric fields) are primarily caused by semiconductor switching and their interactions with system parasitic elements. This work conducted a study on the identification of electromagnetic interference in static converters. In the first part, the single-phase diode bridge rectifier and series chopper were studied and implemented. Subsequently, a combination of these two structures was investigated. The magnetic field scanning method was utilized to measure the electric and magnetic fields and evaluate shielding effectiveness. Furthermore, the impact of varying the switching frequency and duty cycle of the series chopper's MOSFET on conducted and radiated disturbances was determined. In the second part of this thesis, experimental studies and simulations were conducted to analyze conducted and radiated interference in LED lamps. This project was carried out within the framework of the PHC Maghreb program "MELINA" (Mastering Efficiency Lighting in North Africa). The overall objective of this work was to understand and master electromagnetic disturbances in static converters and LED lamps, in order to design more energy-efficient systems.
