Celery–Parsley Intercropping Alters Rhizosphere Fungal Community Composition and Predicted Functional Traits Based on Amplicon Sequencing.
Abstract
Celery and parsley are beneficial vegetables, used for varying herbal roles across the world. Many farmers cultivate these plants as intercrops. However, the impacts of this intercropping on fungal rhizosphere microbiomes have not been thoroughly explored. This study evaluated the composition of the fungal community and its functional diversity under a celery and parsley intercropping system using Internal Transcribed Spacer (ITS) amplicon metagenomic sequencing.
