Strategic Management of Low Carbon Travel in Longevity Tourism Evidence from Thailand
Abstract
The rapid growth of longevity tourism, fueled by an aging population and wellness travel trends, has raised environmental concerns, particularly regarding carbon emissions. This study evaluates the carbon footprint of longevity tourists in Thailand using an LCA-based assessment and analyzes variations across transportation, accommodation, dietary patterns, and awareness levels. Data from 450 participants were examined using descriptive statistics and One-Way ANOVA in IBM SPSS (version 28), revealing significant emission differences (p < 0.01). Findings indicate that transportation and lodging generate the highest emissions, highlighting the need for strategic low-carbon planning and energy-efficient infrastructure to enhance sustainable longevity tourism in Thailand.
