Abstract

This article examines the evolution of Intelligence and Reason, and the fundamental differences between them. It is shown that Intelligence is amenable to study and can be modelled artificially, whereas Reason is in its full depth incomprehensible. Nevertheless, under certain conditions, the evolution of artificial intelligence may give rise to machine Reason — without direct human involvement.
