Identifying opportunities: How the NZ DOI Consortium can help you "get ready"
Abstract
Recent advances in the eResearch domain have led to unprecedented opportunities to create, share, reuse, and preserve digital information. Regardless of the type of information that is being created in digital form – scholarly publications, research data sets, software, websites, etc. – there are benefits to associating digital resources with unique, persistent identifiers such as Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs). This talk will primarily provide information on DOIs and persistent identifiers in the abstract; however the NZ DOI Consortium is facilitated by DataCite and examples may include references to DataCite and the Fabrica interface for DOI minting.ABOUT THE AUTHORMartin Gengenbach is a Digital Preservation Policy and Outreach Specialist at Archives Library New Zealand. Martin is also the coordinator for the New Zealand DOI Consortium. He is interested in the intersection of Digital Preservation and Data Management, and how these fields can be more closely aligned in policy and practice. He earned a Master’s in Library and Information Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with an emphasis in digital curation and archives and records management. -----For more information about the eResearch NZ / eRangahau Aotearoa conference, visit: https://eresearchnz.co.nz/
