Telomere-to-telomere genome assembly of Coprinellus radians
Abstract
Coprinellus radians is a symbiotic fungus that facilitates seed germination of Cremastra appendiculata. In this work, a high-quality telomere-to-telomere (T2T) genome assembly of C. radians was constructed by integrating BGI short-read sequencing, PacBio HiFi sequencing, Oxford Nanopore sequencing, and Hi-C technologies. The final genome assembly spans 41.09 Mb, features a contig N50 of 3.36 Mb, and achieves a BUSCO completeness score of 97.6%. Hi-C interaction analysis anchored 99.36% of the contigs onto 13 chromosomes, allowing the identification of 26 telomeric regions. Gene prediction identified 12,417 protein-coding genes, with functional annotations available for 93.49% of them. This genome will facilitate in-depth studies aimed at understanding the genomic basis of adaptation and ecological function in C. radians.
