Abstract

The International Digital Oral History Lab (IDOHL) website serves as the central platform for a collaborative research initiative between University College London (UCL) and TU Darmstadt. The IDOHL investigates the intersection of oral history and advanced digital technologies, specifically exploring the impact of algorithmic processes, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Natural Language Processing (NLP) on historical research.By integrating qualitative, historical-interpretative analysis with quantitative computational methods, the lab examines how digital tools influence memory preservation, meaning-making, and historical understanding in an increasingly data-driven world. This Figshare provides a access to Resources & Publications that related to the lab's activities and provides access to:Research Projects: Information on ongoing international initiatives such as Mixed-methods Digital Oral History (MeDoraH), Multimodal Digital Oral History (MDOH), and Hidden Histories.Resources & Publications: Research outputs that bridge computational methods and humanistic inquiry, including the application of semantic web technologies and knowledge graphs to oral history corpora.Teaching & Training: Materials and workshops emphasising ethical digital methods in oral history.Events & Engagement: Updates on seminars and open events connecting a global network of researchers mapping the evolution of Digital Humanities.Data Repositories: Links to technical infrastructure, multi-lingual NLP pipelines, domain-specific ontologies, and datasets adhering to FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) principles. This Figshare item archives the digital presence of the lab, reflecting its core mission to combine preserved voices, human interpretations, and computational lenses.
