Abstract

This dataset contains survey and observational data on biosecurity practices among aquaculture operators in Loumbila commune, Burkina Faso. Data were collected from 23 purposively selected fish farmers using structured questionnaires and direct field observations, with KoBo Toolbox as the collection tool. The dataset includes demographic information (gender, age, marital status, experience), knowledge of biosecurity, and reported practices such as equipment cleaning, disinfection, and disposal of dead fish. It also documents critical gaps, including absence of footbaths, limited water quality monitoring, and frequent equipment sharing. Files are provided in tabular format (Excel/SPSS) and can be used to assess biosecurity awareness, identify training needs, and support sustainable aquaculture development in West Africa.
