The Changing Shape of Case-Based Reasoning

This dataset is part of research aimed at presenting a large-scale, topic-level analysis of case-based reasoning (CBR) research. The research is published at the 34th International Conference on Case-Based Reasoning (ICCBR) in 2026 in a paper titled "The Changing Shape of Case-Based Reasoning: A Topic-Level Analysis & Call-to-Action for Modern CBR."This paper makes three contributions. First, we present the large-scale topic-level scientometric analysis of CBR. Second, we introduce a multidimensional momentum framework that uses publication, citation, and author dynamics to analyse the structural evolution of CBR topics. Third, we identify emerging growth patterns and structural divergences, particularly between CBR and kNN, to highlight opportunities for future CBR expansion and renewal.This research uses data from the Semantic Scholar Academic Graph. The terms of the Semantic Scholar Academic Graph data licence prevent the reproduction and redistribution of raw Semantic Scholar (SS) Academic Graph records. This dataset addresses that constraint by providing a minimal subset from the full dataset used. This subset contains no SS-sourced metadata — only the SS corpus ID and URL
