Abstract
Title of Article: Building Multisystem Resilience in Southeast Asia’s Coastal Region: Systematic Review of Nature-Based, Engineering, and Psychosocial Interventions Description:This repository contains the supplementary materials and methodological documentation for a systematic review evaluating coastal resilience interventions in Southeast Asia. The study maps and analyzes how different strategies—comprising of Nature-based Solutions (NbS), Hard Engineering Solutions (HES), and Psychosocial & Community-Based (PS&CB) interventions—are utilized to address compounding climate hazards such as tidal flooding, sea-level rise, coastal erosion, and salinity intrusion. By synthesizing empirical evidence across literatures, this research highlights the shift toward integrated, multisystem frameworks that balance structurally engineered protection, nature based solutions, psychosocial, as well as community-based coastal resilience interventions.Contents of the Supplementary Materials:Supplementary Material 1 (Quality and Risk of Bias Assessment): This assessment integrates the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool (MMAT) version 2018 with a structured framework evaluating four fundamental characteristics: rationality (clarity of objectives), rigor (methodological soundness), credibility (trustworthiness of findings), and contribution (significance to the field).Supplementary Material 2 (Data Extraction & Synthesis Table): The complete matrix used to extract data directly addressing the primary research questions. It categorizes the 18 included studies by author, location, disaster types, intervention types, resilience outcomes, and identified research gaps.PRISMA Flow Diagram: A visual mapping of the study selection pipeline, documenting the rigorous screening process from the initial identification of 14,077 records down to the final 18 peer-reviewed articles included in the synthesis.PRISMA 2020 Checklist: A detailed reporting checklist demonstrating compliance with the PRISMA guidelines for systematic reviews, outlining where each specific reporting item is located within the main manuscript. All data extraction forms and synthesized matrices are made fully transparent here to ensure the complete transparency, verification, and reproducibility of the review's findings by the broader research community.
