Figures — Gamified Strategies to Enhance Cognitive Development in Early Childhood Education
Abstract
This dataset contains the figures and statistical tables associated with the research article "Gamified Strategies to Enhance Cognitive Development in Early Childhood Education." The study employed a quasi-experimental design with a control group and an experimental group (n = 20 children), evaluating four cognitive dimensions: attention and concentration, memory, language, and logical thinking, using a structured observation checklist (4-point Likert scale). The collection includes: (1) a baseline bar chart showing mean cognitive skill scores prior to intervention (Figure 1); (2) screenshots of four interactive gamified activities developed in Genially, one per cognitive dimension — human body part exploration for attention and concentration (Figure 2), a card-matching game for memory (Figure 3), a sequence-verbalization activity for language (Figure 4), and a hidden-image task for logical thinking (Figure 5); and (3) statistical output tables for each cognitive variable (Tables 5–12), including Shapiro–Wilk normality test results with density plots for both the control and experimental groups, and Mann–Whitney–Wilcoxon test results with median calculations and box plots. Results confirmed statistically significant differences between groups across all four cognitive dimensions, supporting the effectiveness of gamification as a pedagogical strategy in early childhood education.
