Abstract

This dataset comprises qualitative interview transcripts from a case study exploring waste management experiences and perceptions among pre-service teachers in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi, Philippines. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with seven fourth-year education students. The transcripts capture detailed narratives on challenges (student resistance, systemic gaps, role model struggles, environmental hazards) and attitudes influencing environmental education integration. Thematic analysis identified experiential barriers and teaching intentions. The dataset supports research on teacher education, sustainability in low-resource coastal communities, and environmental literacy. Keywords: waste management, pre-service teachers, environmental education, Philippines, Tawi-Tawi.
