Abstract

As I walked across the pavement, I saw a black balloon dancing in the nearby drains. It was neither too large nor too small, hovering above the drainage water, positioned directly beneath the stream coming from the drain. The balloon seemed to dance, moving back and forth at regular intervals-a remarkable demonstration of physics in nature. This sight raises an intriguing question for students: Why does the balloon move in this particular manner? This experience highlights that physics learning can happen anywhere. A qualitative explanation of why the balloon behaves this way is presented. This work aims to encourage physics teachers to explore and use diverse resources beyond the classroom to enhance students' understanding. Observing and discussing such phenomena can make learning more engaging and less monotonous. Both teachers and students can document these observations and bring them into the classroom for further exploration and discussion. Physics can be explored in any environment, even by examining the behavior of a balloon in a sewage pipe.
