Etnografiando los enterramientos musulmanes en Madrid: entre la tradición religiosa y la reivindicación ciudadana
Abstract
The consolidation of Muslim communities in European multicultural societies has transformed Muslims' views on the role of Islam in Europe and, by extension, their vision of public space. This study examines some of the ways in which Islam takes on meaning within the collective imaginaries of Muslim individuals and communities. It also explores the contribution of contemporary Islamic thought, linked to a subaltern class consciousness, to the management of the problematic of space, through an investigation focused on the demands related to funeral services in the Autonomous Community of Madrid.
