Abstract

This article critically analyzes how the contemporary regime of sexuality, centered on consent and the expansion of penal language, defines the boundaries of permissible sex. It examines the "aggressor" figure, highlighting how its individualization, articulated with hegemonic masculinity discourses, hinders a genuine problematization of sexual violence and the dismantling of its enabling mechanisms. We argue that analyzing the social construction of this figure does not aim to relativize harm, but rather to open pathways for complex, intersectional, and relational forms of accountability, fostering recognition, problematization, and reparation beyond punitive measures. The paper proposes an approach that interrogates masculine desire and the essentialization of masculinity, seeking to enable subjective and collective responsibility. Its original contribution lies in offering a critique that invites a rethinking of sexual violence prevention through a profound transformation of gender relations, with active societal involvement, including men.
