An overview of the basic factors influencing product design, design representation using technical production documentation, parts - components of products enabling their functioning, operation and performance. The content is clearly organized into 5 sections and is specially adapted (especially through clear visualization) for adoption by students who have no previous education in any technical field. It therefore also introduces some physical laws and properties of materials used in design. The content is intended to support the ability of design students to understand the functioning of products and communicate about it with engineers or technologists, to understand their design process, priorities and limits. The goal is greater autonomy of the designer in finding innovative concepts and support a high level of integration of designers into product project teams.
