This research is motivated by the importance of imagery in transmitting imagination clearly in a poem and understanding the imagery contained in a poem. The purpose of this study is to understand the importance of imagery in poetry that influences the reader's perception in different ways. The data collection technique used in this study is by using the Hermeneutic technique. With the following data collection steps, 1. Reading technique, 2. Recording/marking, 3. Summarizing research data. Data analysis techniques 1. Classifying data according to research problems, 2. Analyzing data based on Rachmat Djoko Pradopo's imagery theory (2009). 3. Interpreting research results. After conducting data analysis, the results of the study were found on Imagery in the poetry collection Masih Ingatkah Kau Jalan Pulang by Sapardi Djoko Damono and Rintik Sedu. That in the collection of poems the use of imagery creates a special atmosphere, arouses various emotions in readers and can feel and understand the meaning of poetry in the context of their own lives. The dominant imagery used in poetry is vision. The least used imagery is movement imagery. This shows the poet's tendency to use imagery in descriptions that can stimulate the sense of sight, making objects or situations that are not actually visible feel as if they are real.
