New data on megalithic tombs in Western Pomerania
Abstract
Over the past several years, so-called non-invasive methods (such as airborne laser scanning and photography) have led to a veritable revolution in the search for megalithic tombs or their remains. In Western Pomerania, Poland alone, these methods have facilitated the discovery of at least several dozen such sites. These include both previously known structures – some with uncertain locations – as well as entirely new megalithic monuments. The number of known sites is increasing rapidly, and this article presents the most recent discoveries.
