ANALISIS KESENJANGAN DIGITAL DALAM MANAJEMEN LEMBAGA PENDIDIKAN ISLAM ANTARA WILAYAH PERKOTAAN DAN PEDESAAN
Abstract
The rapid development of information and communication technology has encouraged educational institutions to adopt digital-based management systems. However, disparities in access, infrastructure, human resources, and digital literacy have created unequal capacities between urban and rural Islamic educational institutions. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a comparative case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation from several Islamic educational institutions in urban and rural areas of Jember Regency. The results show that urban institutions tend to have more advanced digital management systems, supported by adequate infrastructure, stable internet access, and competent human resources. Meanwhile, rural institutions face structural and cultural constraints, including limited infrastructure, low digital skills of educators and administrators, and weak institutional support. This digital divide affects the effectiveness, transparency, and sustainability of institutional management. The study recommends strengthening digital infrastructure, capacity building for human resources, and affirmative policies to reduce the digital divide in Islamic educational management.
