Movilidad urbana sostenible: revisión conceptual de estrategias, indicadores y efectos socioespaciales
Abstract
Sustainable urban mobility has become a central topic in academic debate and public policy formulation in contemporary cities, particularly in Latin American contexts characterized by socio-spatial inequality and high dependence on private automobiles. This article aims to conduct a conceptual review of recent literature on sustainable urban mobility, focusing on implemented strategies, evaluation indicators, and the socio-spatial effects derived from their application. The methodology follows a conceptual and analytical review approach, based on a corpus of scientific articles published between 2021 and 2025, selected according to thematic relevance and an urban-territorial perspective. The analysis was structured around three main axes: mobility strategies, evaluation indicators, and socio-spatial effects, allowing the identification of convergences, divergences, and research gaps. The results show that sustainable mobility strategies—such as active mobility, urban proximity, transport demand management, and integrated public transport—produce differentiated effects depending on urban and social contexts. In addition, significant heterogeneity in the indicators used was identified, limiting cross-study comparability. The review concludes that sustainable urban mobility must be addressed through an integrated approach that links urban planning, territorial equity, and multidimensional evaluation, highlighting the relevance of socio-spatial effects as a key criterion for the design and monitoring of mobility policies in Latin America.
