Abstract

Abstract: Next-generation communication infrastructures—5G evolution, emerging 6G architectures, and converged satellite–terrestrial networks—are entering a transition in which cryptographic assumptions and protocol lifecycles must withstand discontinuous adversary capability. This manuscript develops a rigorous, publisher-ready framework for quantum-safe NextG systems by treating security as a verified property of protocol composition, deployment algorithms, and governance processes rather than as an algorithm substitution exercise. The core argument is that quantum-safe modernization must be evaluated as a socio-technical migration: identity, key management, control-plane signaling, and supply-chain interfaces interact with latency budgets, handover dynamics, and multi-operator interoperability, creating systemic risk if verification and rollout logic are weak. The book integrates uncertainty-aware research design, statistical explanation and causal inference for incident and performance impacts, trustworthy machine learning for predictive assurance and anomaly triage, and scalable engineering for reproducible analytics and MLOps. Research outputs are specified as reusable artifacts—verified protocol claims, migration playbooks, deployment and rollback algorithms, audit-ready evidence packets, and governance charters—structured for applicability across South Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas without relying on fabricated datasets or citations. Keywords quantum-safe cryptography, NextG networks, 5G security, 6G architecture, verified protocols, key management, authentication, control plane, interoperability, migration algorithms, rollback safety, causal inference, trustworthy machine learning, robustness, reproducibility, MLOps, telemetry governance, supply-chain assurance, risk metrics
