Psychological intervention as an adjunct to sedation and analgesia: benefits for emotional state, resilience, and postoperative recovery among emergency multiple trauma patients
Abstract
OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to explore the impact of combining sedation and analgesia management with psychological intervention for the rehabilitation of emergency patients with multiple trauma. METHODS: This retrospective study included 211 multiple trauma patients with traumatic fracture who were admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical University between January 2020 and October 2024. Based on the intervention strategy, patients were assigned to either the conventional intervention group (n=102) or the conventional + psychological intervention group (n=109). The conventional intervention group received conventional sedation, analgesia and rehabilitation training. The conventional + psychological intervention group got added psychological intervention carried out by professional psychologists.
