Abstract

The following research presents a report on professional practices focused on an educational intervention proposal for teaching the concept of functions to second-year secondary school students. It highlights the relevance of functions, both in learning and in everyday life, and is structured in four units to facilitate understanding. The first unit describes the school context, including a diagnosis that analyzes students' learning styles and prior knowledge of functions. The second unit establishes the objectives of the work and supports the research with legal and pedagogical foundations that guarantee the validity of the report. The third unit focuses on the teaching sequence, breaking down each session and qualitatively analyzing the results, complemented by a quantitative analysis using assessment instruments. Finally, the fourth unit presents an analysis of the results obtained through a mixed evaluation, using a field diary for qualitative evaluation and a standardized test for quantitative evaluation. This comprehensive approach allows for a deeper understanding of the impact of the proposal on student learning, highlighting the importance of functions in their academic and everyday development.
