Abstract

This proposal is a case study that seeks to examine the relationship between human insecurity, violence, and development in neoliberal capitalism. In this regard, through the methodological use of critical dialectics, it aims to identify the current conditions of human insecurity experienced by individuals and social groups in socially vulnerable situations located in the territorial demarcation of León de los Aldama in Guanajuato. In contextual terms, the city is considered an industrial metropolis, with accelerated economic and social dynamics due to the establishment of national and international companies. However, it has been identified that the city is experiencing processes of socio-territorial segregation where spaces of violence and insecurity are configured. This condition reveals a contradiction between development and living conditions and the spiral of violence and insecurity, which is why it is defined as a development problem.
