Abstract

This work is a theoretical-methodological proposal whose objective is to address gender violence in Mexico through a methodology of chaos in the human body that recovers the sphincter as a "political space" which, despite being the last part of the digestive system, constructs "political subjects" exposed to capitalism, ultraviolence, machismo, and addictions. If we recover the body as a chaotic terrain where multiple mockeries, resistances, and oppositions occur, we will detect that in some male bodies, various anal policies prevail. That is, through heterosexual macho hyperviolence, the anus is kept closed (metaphorically speaking).Or, thanks to "limbic capitalism" (the "evil twin" of capitalism that causes addictions), it can be in a continuous process of closing and opening through macho attitudes, as well as the accumulation and compulsion not so much of material goods, but of violence, mockery, and humiliation. Thus, our two case studies (two life stories, in fact) make it possible to (re)think of an orifice, the anus in this case, as a delimiter and violator of lives. In both cases, regardless of sexual orientation, masculinities are subject to, overwhelmed by, the weight of the abject nature of the anus. And this abjection leads to multiple ramifications that condition their lives and (re)direct them toward certain behaviors that are harmful not only to women or the LGBTQ+ community, but also to themselves.Through the chaos materialized in the bodies examined, we can approach new ways of (re)thinking some hegemonic Mexican masculinities.
