Abstract

The objective of this article is to explain the economic impact of a SOCAP on the economic activities of its members and how the financing provided by these cooperatives has been used to improve productive activities. The study methodology is mixed; that is, it involves a documentary review followed by the collection of primary data through a survey of members of a SOCAP located in the municipality of Tlaxcala. The results indicate that there is indeed an improvement in productive activities, stronger bonds of solidarity, and mutual support resulting from savings deposits or through access to credit or loans for participating members.
