Abstract

This article is a contribution to the study of the effects of poverty on public health. Its general objective is to estimate the degree of dependence between disability and poverty at the municipal level in the state of Hidalgo in 2020. Through the application of a test of independence between events, together with the conditional probability of being disabled given the condition of poverty, the inequalities among persons with disabilities are established, identifying the principal setting of social segregation in the state of Hidalgo so that it may be addressed through public policy.
