Cultura, Educación e Integralidad: Fundamentos para una Formación Transcultural Crítica y Holística
Abstract
Integrality emerges as a fundamental framework for addressing the complexity of the human being and overcoming the fragmentation that characterizes today’s globalized world. This approach argues that critical interculturality goes beyond mere coexistence as it challenges power structures and coloniality to promote justice and social diversity. Likewise, it advances transculturality as a process through which different cultures merge to create new cultural realities, grounded in both digital and spiritual forms of knowledge. In the field of education, integrality recognizes that formal, informal, and non-formal education are all essential components of the learning process, rooted in family and community contexts. This model redefines traditional roles. A teacher is understood as a cultural mediator while a student is viewed as a multidimensional being biopsychosociocultural that embraces mind, body, and spirit. Finally, this introduction provides a humanistic orientation to the main purpose of education: learning to know, to be, to do, and to live together. Guiding them towards an ethical life with strong social value. Despite facing significant challenges such as teacher resistance and digital inequalities, integrality seeks to promote a holistic education that responds to the historical and cultural realities of the contemporary world.
