Abstract

The present research analyzes the application of Taptanite, a pedagogical tool inspired by the values, principles of the Andean worldview and the Cañari counter, designed to facilitate the learning of basic mathematical concepts such as counting, representation of quantities, addition and subtraction in students of elementary basic education. This study focuses on practical implementation in an Ecuadorian school context, evaluating both the learning process and the cultural and pedagogical implications. The results indicate that Taptanite promotes meaningful learning through a playful and collaborative approach, promoting creativity and the appropriation of mathematical knowledge.
