Abstract

This research paper presents the results of the evaluation process of safety conditions related to static electricity in a concrete production plant, based on the guidelines of the Mexican Official Standard NOM-022-STPS-2008. Therefore, it aims to evaluate the safety conditions related to static electricity in a concrete production plant by identifying charge-generating sources and measuring the electrical resistance and continuity of the grounding systems, using the criteria established by NOM-022-STPS-2008. Potential sources of generation or accumulation of electrical charges were identified in different areas of the plant, and electrical resistance and continuity measurements were performed using certified equipment. The values obtained remained within the permissible ranges established by the standard, demonstrating adequate overall compliance and safe operating conditions. Finally, the results are discussed in relation to the management of electrical risks in industrial environments and the importance of periodic verification of grounding systems.
