Abstract

Modern enterprises operate in an environment characterized by rapid technological change, evolving business requirements, regulatory pressures, and increasing system complexity.Traditional enterprise architecture approaches often struggle to maintain alignment between business strategy and software systems, resulting in brittle architecture, rising technical debt, and reduced organizational agility.Domain-Driven Design (DDD) has emerged as a powerful paradigm for addressing these challenges by placing business domains, domain knowledge, and collaboration at the center of system design. This paper explores Domain-Driven Design as a foundational framework for enterprise architecture, emphasizing its role in bridging the persistent gap between business and technology.By aligning architectural structures with core business domains, DDD enables enterprises to build scalable, adaptable, and resilient systems that evolve alongside organizational goals. The study synthesizes existing literature, architectural principles, and practical enterprise experiences to examine how DDD concepts such as bounded contexts, ubiquitous language, strategic design, and domain models can be systematically integrated into enterprise architecture practices. The paper further proposes a structured methodology for applying DDD within largescale enterprises, particularly in cloud-native, microservices-oriented, and DevSecOpsdriven environments.Through qualitative analysis and architectural evaluation, the study demonstrates how DDD improves business-IT alignment, reduces technical debt, and enhances system governance. The findings suggest that Domain-Driven Design is not merely a software development technique but a strategic architectural discipline that supports long-term enterprise transformation.
