Abstract

This article addresses active listening and affective listening as fundamental and holistic strategies for promoting worker care and well-being, aiming to provide a more welcoming and healthy work environment. This topic is of paramount importance, as it seeks to guarantee the emotional stability and health of employees, demonstrating how individualized and attentive listening can be a powerful factor in motivating and improving worker health, benefiting not only the worker but also the company itself. The research was conducted through a literature review with the objective of evaluating relevant points about active and affective listening among professionals, bibliographic references that address the concepts, and the importance of considering the health of each worker, where both should converge towards an ideal of general well-being for professionals. Initially, 32 articles were selected, of which 8 were considered after the exclusion of irrelevant topics. The literature review focused on studies from the last 5 (five) years, consulting the Scielo, Pubmed, and Google Scholar databases. The results indicate that implementing a culture of listening reduces absenteeism, increases job satisfaction and productivity, and strengthens the emotional bond between the worker and the company. Therefore, the objective of this work was to analyze and systematize the scientific evidence that proves the effectiveness of active and affective listening as low-cost, high-impact interventions in promoting overall well-being in the workplace.
