Abstract

Literature has emerged as a powerful tool for educational inclusion, fostering the cognitive, social, and emotional development of students, especially those in vulnerable situations. This article explores the use of literature as a pedagogical strategy to promote inclusion in the school environment. This qualitative and bibliographic research examines literary works, official documents, scientific articles, and documented best practices. The results highlight the importance of pedagogical practices based on literature, such as reading circles and dramatizations, in building empathy, critical thinking, and a sense of belonging. Challenges, including teacher training and overcoming structural barriers, are also discussed. It is concluded that literature, beyond an educational instrument, is a means to strengthen school coexistence and promote a more inclusive society.
