Abstract

Music education is an essential educational practice in the integral development of children, promoting sensitivity, expression, creativity, and critical thinking from the earliest years of life. In the educational context, music goes beyond the artistic field and takes on a formative role, contributing to socialization, emotional balance, and the cognitive process. In this sense, the Early Childhood Education and Elementary School Curriculum of the Municipality of Cascavel (2020) recognizes music as a language and an indispensable component in children's education, proposing meaningful experiences that integrate sound, body, movement, and imagination. Music education, aligned with the National Common Core Curriculum (BNCC), favors pedagogical practices that value local culture and children's protagonism, enabling children to learn through listening, experimentation, and creation. Thus, this research seeks to reflect on the importance of musical education in the teaching-learning process, highlighting its presence in the municipal curriculum of Cascavel and its contribution to the comprehensive education of children in early childhood education.
