O CRESCIMENTO DE ALUNOS AUTISTAS NA EDUCAÇÃO BÁSICA NA MODERNIDADE
Abstract
This article aims to analyze the growth and inclusion of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in basic education in modern times, considering the legal, pedagogical, and social advances that have promoted the recognition of neurodiversity within the school environment. The research is based on a literature review of recent studies (2020–2025) discussing inclusive practices, public policies, adapted teaching methodologies, and the impact of educational technologies on the learning of autistic students. The analysis shows that although enrollment rates and awareness of autism have significantly increased in recent decades, challenges related to teacher training, curricular accessibility, and specialized support still persist. It is concluded that modern education must go beyond mere inclusion, adopting humanized, flexible, and collaborative pedagogical practices capable of recognizing the cognitive and emotional potential of each autistic student.
