Abstract

This research aims to investigate Accelerated Thinking Syndrome (ATS) as a learning difficulty, given the perception that children today are experiencing disorders stemming from a multiplicity of stimuli at all levels. The disinterest, indiscipline, and learning difficulties that are increasingly present in schools may be symptoms of Accelerated Thinking Syndrome and not ADHD, a very common diagnosis in schools. To this end, we used a literature review methodology, consisting mainly of works by authors experienced in psychopedagogical topics, scientific articles, and reports related to Accelerated Thinking Syndrome and ADHD, and data collection through interviews conducted in a primary school in the city of Sertãozinho - SP. Data was categorized for analysis.
