BOAS PRÁTICAS DE GOVERNANÇA NO PROCESSO DE LIDERANÇA ORGANIZACIONAL NA SAÚDE
Abstract
This article aims to reflect on the combination of best practices in Corporate Governance (CG) and leadership, highlighting the fundamentals and principles that guide CG practices. It is essential that institutions have well-defined purposes so that the objectives to be achieved are clear, as well as the strategy to be adopted to achieve them. In this sense, the adoption of CG in healthcare is indispensable, since the elements of transparency, equity, accountability, and corporate responsibility are governance principles that must be preserved, combined with ethics and the institution's purpose. These principles are found in governance codes worldwide and guide conduct and recommendations as needed and appropriate. Regarding methodology, a descriptive and qualitative literature review was conducted. The alliance of good CG practices and leadership makes it possible for healthcare systems and institutions to achieve significant improvements in service delivery, cost and budget management, resolving conflicts of interest, practicing risk management, and achieving objectives efficiently and with the comprehensiveness of stakeholders. Good governance practices aim to enable access to healthcare for the entire population, focusing on environmental sustainability and public policies that encourage investment. Furthermore, access to health is directly related to human rights, which in turn influence the content of good governance efforts, as they can guide the development of legislative frameworks, policies, programs, budget allocations, and other measures.
