O ABUSO SEXUAL INFANTIL NO ÂMBITO FAMILIAR: CARACTERÍSTICAS DAS VÍTIMAS, AGRESSORES E CONSEQUÊNCIAS PSICOSSOCIAIS
Abstract
This article examines child sexual abuse in the Brazilian context, focusing on intrafamilial cases, and analyzes its epidemiological aspects, profiles of victims and perpetrators, psychosocial impacts, and prevention strategies. Data reveal that most victims are girls between 4 and 14 years old (Cavalcanti, 2019; Fundação Abrinq, 2024), while perpetrators are predominantly male individuals with close family ties (Finkelhor, 2018). Sexual violence leads to severe physical and emotional consequences, including anxiety disorders, depression, and self-destructive behaviors (Day et al., 2019; Herman, 2015). Underreporting, estimated at 90% of cases (Agência Patrícia Galvão, 2023), highlights the need for more effective public policies. Prevention and intervention strategies include sex education in schools, strengthening protective networks, and the effective enforcement of the Child and Adolescent Statute. The study concludes that combating this issue requires an intersectoral approach involving the State, society, and families to ensure the fundamental rights of children and adolescents.
