MÚSICA, ARTES E CÉREBRO AUTISTA: A EFICÁCIA DA MUSICOTERAPIA E DA ARTETERAPIA NO DESENVOLVIMENTO DE HABILIDADES SOCIAIS E COMUNICATIVAS
Abstract
Music therapy and art therapy have emerged as promising tools in supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), particularly in enhancing the development of social and communication skills. These therapeutic approaches, grounded in neuroscience, facilitate sensory integration, emotional expression, and interpersonal interaction through non-verbal language and artistic engagement. This article aims to investigate the effects of these methods within the context of inclusive education, based on recent scientific evidence. The methodology is qualitative, using bibliographic review, including both national and international academic publications. The findings suggest that both music therapy and art therapy significantly contribute to improvements in communication, social behavior, and emotional self-regulation in children with autism, emphasizing the essential role of art as a bridge to human development. It is concluded that therapeutic practices based on music and visual arts should be considered complementary strategies in the educational process of individuals with ASD, integrating neuroscientific, pedagogical, and emotional dimensions.
